The Sanderson's award winning afternoon tea is definitely a thing to experience with menus hidden inside vintage books and teapots adorned with kings and queens, their Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea is full of sweet treats and savoury delights to tantalise your taste buds. From Smoked Salmon Scotch Quails Egg with Caviar and Cream Cheese and melt-in-your-mouth Stack of King of Hearts Ham and Parmesan Croque-Monsieur to the Queen of Hearts Rose and Strawberry Jammy Dodger, complete with the Mad March Hare Vanilla Pocket Watch Macaroon, there's no excuse not to be late for this important date. Wash everything down with Alice's Exotic Fruits "Drink Me" potion and a glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne for good measure. And for the Afternoon Tea traditionalists, finish up with warm scones, clotted cream and fruit preserve, perfectly paired with Alice-inspired tea infusions.

Starting with the teas, we were given bottles with the tea blends inside as well as plain cards that explained what each one tastes like. Although we each picked one tea to start we were regularly checked upon and asked if we would like to try different teas throughout.

The savouries brought full flavoured bitesized pieces that creating a great start to the meal. Each piece bringing their own unique element to the tea.

Moving on, the sweet elements brought fun plays on the book references like the Jammie queen of hearts or the blue caterpillar. Tasting as as good as it looked. Making for a great overall tea.

I would highly recommend visiting the Sanderson Hotel and enjoying this unique experience to anyone who is looking for a great afternoon out in London.
